What to do in case of an accident Car and truck accidents are common in the busy streets of Phoenix. Here are some tips that you should follow in the event of a car accident. 1. Stay calm! 2. Make sure that all occupants in your vehicle are safe including yourself. 3. Check to ensure if there are any other injuries in the area including by standers the other party etc. 4. Call 911 if necessary. 5. Check to make sure that the are is safe. 6. Before moving any vehicle take as many pictures as possible. a. One away from the car showing the street and the vehicles involved. b. Take a picture of the pavement ensuring all vehicles are showing. c. Take close ups of each vehicle where the damage occurred. d. The pictures should include all angles of the vehicles. e. If proof of insurance is provided take a picture of it front and back. This will ensure that no mistakes are made when writing information down. f. Do not forget to ask for a copy of the others party drivers license. g. Obtain and save the other persons phone # and save it on your phone but verify that the # is correct. 7. At this point you can wait for the police or move the vehicles if they are obstructing traffic. Once you have been released by the police contact your insurance company and the other party’s.
