Know your rights Car accidents are a scary thing and most people do not know their rights and end up making bad decisions due to not knowing their rights. One would thing that the insurance company has your best interest in mind but that is not always the case. The employees at the insurance company have one job and that is to protect their own interest and save as much money as possible. It is unfortunately but the reality is that you need to have as much information as possible to ensure that you are looking out for your best interest as the insurance company wont. If you were involved in an accident report it as soon as possible. It does not matter if it was your fault or not. Contact your insurance company and the other party’s insurance and file a claim. Get your self checked out by a physician, determine whether or not you need to seek legal council. Take your vehicle to an auto body shop of your choice. The insurance company can NOT tell you where to have your car or truck repaired. Do your research and pick an auto body shop that has experience with your type of vehicle. Check their reviews call and ask questions. Do not be afraid to ask the type of materials that they use, ask about warranties, deductibles and time table for your vehicle to be repaired. Ask if used parts are going to be used or if they will be using OEM Parts.
